SAT Math
The SAT Math section is a crucial component of the SAT exam that assesses a student's quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills. It consists of two subsections: the No Calculator section and the Calculator section. To excel in this section, students must possess a solid foundation in various mathematical concepts and demonstrate proficiency in applying them to solve complex problems. Essential skills needed to pass the SAT Math section include a thorough understanding of arithmetic operations, algebraic equations and functions, geometry and measurement, data analysis and statistics, and advanced topics such as trigonometry. Additionally, students should be adept at interpreting and analyzing graphs, tables, and charts, as these often appear in SAT Math questions. Familiarity with key formulas and the ability to identify relevant information from word problems are crucial for effective problem-solving. With diligent practice, logical reasoning, and strategic time management, students can develop the necessary skills to succeed in the SAT Math section and achieve their desired scores.

Identify Patterns and Shortcuts
Sometimes, working backward from the answer choices can save time and provide a faster solution. Plug in the answer choices into the problem and see which one satisfies the conditions given. This approach can be effective for algebraic equations or quantitative comparisons.

Draw Diagrams and Visualize
For geometry or word problems, sketching diagrams can help you visualize the problem and gain a better understanding of the relationships between different elements. Label the given information and use the diagram to formulate your approach.

Eliminate Answers
When unsure about the correct answer, use the process of elimination. Plug in answer choices or estimate their values to see if they fit the problem requirements. Eliminate options that don't match, increasing your chances of selecting the correct answer.

My top SAT Resource:
I know people sometimes spend a lot of money on prep books and online courses, but honestly, the one thing that helped me increase my score on the SAT was doing a lot of practice tests in a timed setting. Therefore, I have to say the Khan Academy SAT prep section is one of the best free resources to practice for the SAT out there, especially their practice tests.
